Training Christians in the production and use of visual
media products for evangelism in a country with a billion
population and that has been the largest producer of
theatrical films is a task to content with. Communicating
the Gospel to a visual media literate populace steeped
in illiteracy is an expanding need. The 15 million people
that go to 13000 theaters a week and the 90 percent
homes exposed to the same escapist fare broadcast through
100 TV channels need to come to grips with the claims
of Jesus Christ.
GIFTS Institute of Communications that was set up
in 1979 strives to meet this need by organizing Video
Production Workshops, TV Presenter's and Newsreader's
workshops, Media Awareness Training Workshops, Writer's
workshops, Script Writing Seminars, Film Appreciation
Courses, Film Evangelism Seminars, Village Evangelist's
Training programs and conferences.
